Legacy, the permanent mode
Legacy is the long-term home of the collection. It has no seasonal reset: cards from completed Seasons migrate there, while selected Draft rewards join the active Season or Legacy when no Season is open.

A collection designed to persist
Cards from a completed Season migrate into Legacy. Draft collections do not transfer wholesale: only the earned reward cards persist, usually in the active Season and otherwise in Legacy.
Legacy cards and decks remain separate from an active Season or Draft while those events run. Select the correct event before editing: a card visible in the permanent collection is not automatically legal in a temporary event deck.
- Use Legacy to compare cards earned across different closed events.
- Keep several decks when one collection supports multiple ranking goals.
- Archived event history can coexist with a newly optimized permanent deck.
Persistent deck ratings and rankings
Legacy leaderboards do not reset on the Season schedule. Each deck carries its own Elo, and completed battles update both participating deck ratings with the same K-factor 32 calculation used by standard competition.
The public tables retain each player’s best qualifying deck for global, mono-race, and maximum-level categories. Long history gives ratings more context, but card or balance changes can still shift which list performs best.
- Track individual decks instead of treating Elo as an account level.
- A mono-race list must contain exactly one race to qualify for its table.
- Rare, Very Rare, and Epic max tables cap cards at levels 2, 3, and 4.
The best place for long-term experiments
A large permanent pool makes Legacy useful for testing bonus interactions, race synergies, card order, and several versions of the same idea. Automatic combat still contains random targeting, so compare a change over multiple matches.
Change one decision at a time when possible: a card replacement and a full reorder together make it harder to understand why the result changed. Public deck and card pages can help document successful combinations.
- Duplicate the strategic idea in another deck before a major rebuild.
- Test front-line survival, then damage order, then specialized bonuses.
- Use the permanent format to learn before a similar race returns to Draft.
Market and Catalyst decisions
When the Market feature is enabled, Legacy can support auctions using the account wallet. Listings, bids, refunds, and card transfers remain tied to the current event context; the Market is unavailable in Draft and Ascension.
Catalyst converts five same-level cards into one higher-level card, up to level 7. In a permanent collection, that exchange can unlock a stronger option, but it also removes five selectable sources and may break a level-capped deck.
- Remove a card from decks before listing it for auction.
- Check every active deck before consuming five cards in Catalyst.
- Treat market availability as configurable; the core Legacy mode works without it.
